Rooftops at Dawn - Literative walk is among the winners at the European Youth Award

 

The Rooftops at dawn – Literative walk project, a Creative Technology Lab project co-created with the Petőfi Museum of Literature and the MTA Sztaki (Hungarian Academy of Sciences, Computer and Automation Research Institute) has been awarded at the European Youth Award. The Award is given in the six categories of the UN Millenium Development Goals to new media solutions and projects developed by young designers, entrepreneurs in Europe. The project is one of the winners of the Education for All category. The award ceremony will be held on 23rd November, where the lab will be represented by Anna Janko, former student of MOME and Juli Mata, colleague at the Lab, both creators of the project.

  

 
Aunt Pepper in America

Aunt Pepper singing book, a co-project of the Lab and the Bajor Gizi Actors' Museum has been on show at the Massachusetts based Hampshire College as part of the exhibition titled "Pulp to Pixels". The show is presenting works of graphic designers and artists within the realm of interactive books. Aunt Pepper was illustrated by the Manja Lekic, a MOME animation student.

 
Data is beautiful conference

Part of program at the Design Week Budapest, the conference takes place 3-5 October including several international guest presenters. The head of the lab, Zsofia Ruttkay gives a presentation on 5th October titled: Szindbád: visualizations of the musicality of literative text.

Beside of presenting her own work, she will also speak about the education of audiovisualization at MOME.

Special Tech Tea at the Design Terminal

The first event of the new brand MOME Laboratory was the introduction of "Syntonyms", the work of Ábris Gryllus at the Design Terminal on 15th September where Zsofia Ruttkay led a conversation with the creators: Ábris Gryllus, Ágoston Nagy, Wanda Reich, Noémi Varga and with professors of the MOME: Dóra Balla, Márton Szentpéteri. 

 

 
Ars Electronica - The Big Picture

Zsofia Ruttkay participated in the Ars Electronica fesztiválon festival.Titled "The Big Picture", this year's edition was dedicated to audiovisualization and to interdisplinarity, where Zsofia took part in Seed, an audiovisualization technology workshop. The most remarkable experience was the Tsunagari & Authagraph presentation:the more than 1000 leds covered globe became a screen for animated data. The source of these animations were edited from a touchtable iocated in the space or even through the internet.
